Located in the heart of Appalachia, Mercer County has a population of nearly 60,000 residents that are hardworking, resilient, and dedicated to community. For generations, our people have been blessed with deep roots and family values.
Within a 12 hour drive to nearly 60% of the United States population, Mercer County, is located in geographically perfect to new opportunities. Our economy is currently comprised of coal supporting industries, retail establishments, tourism and recreation. In recent years, we have invested into our communities and are now prime for new ventures end investments!
The Mercer County school system is comprised of multiple blue ribbon elementary, middle and high schools, two universities, and three community colleges. We are continually striving for expansion of our emergency services, and we are progressively working towards becoming an economic hub for transportation services in the eastern US.
As elected officials, we are honored to represent our constituents in the best manner possible, and we welcome our visitors with open arms.
